An Abandoned Homestead

As I am leaving Idaho this week I thought this photo would be appropriate.  I found this place a few summers ago on a road trip from Oregon to South Dakota.  It is in the Salmon River Valley near the town of Salmon, Idaho.  I really enjoy these old places and I have quite a few pictures of them.  This one was particularly haunting I thought.  One can almost hear the voices of the kids playing in the yard but the only inhabitants now are the trees that have grown right through the structure and out the roof.

  1. Cool photo. I know the place, and many more like it…
